Emmanuel Faber and David Barber join investor Astanor Ventures. The goal with the new partners is to "build the next generation of agrifood technology companies with impact," the investment firm shares in a press release.
Since its inception in 2017, Astanor has invested in 29 agrifood technology companies around the world, including horticulture software player Artemis, sensor developer Vivent, coating developer Apeel, vertical farm builder Infarm, and insect grower Ÿnsect.
In December 2020, the company closed a €264 million fund, setting a record for the largest impact investment fund in agrifood ever raised.

David Barber is the founder of Almanac Insights and co-founder of Blue Hill, an agriculture and consulting company leading the way to a regenerative economy. Emmanuel Faber is an activist for climate-focused and social enterprise and former CEO of French agrifood giant Danone
Astanor says it is pioneering a new model of impact investing, one that is "data-driven and transparent" and that "scales returns and impact to transform the economy from one of extraction to one of regeneration."
